Forgotten

It’s my pleasure today to introduce you to our featured writer of the week, Christen Sweat. Her flash fiction piece, Forgotten, is raw, visceral, and penetrates deep into your being. She holds nothing back as she gives you a peek into a life on the other side of the tracks: the kind of life we see from a distance and pity, and mock, and feel as if it could never happen to us.

What is it to be in an infinitely broken relationship? How do you get out from the tailspin once you see the ground coming right at you? Christen drops us right into a moment of sorrow, of hopelessness, and just as we get sucked into this world, we are pulled back out—and can only wonder, what if we to were broken?
