Earlier today we issued an open flash fiction challenge. The challenge was to write a few sentences every 30 minutes until a 500 word story was created by the end of the day. This challenge was mainly for fun and a way to help get the creative juices flowing during an average work day.
The thing is though, I liked the idea so much I decided to try the challenge myself. And since I’ve been in the Halloween mood, I figured a good ol’ murder story would be fitting. Now, I partially failed as my story hit 585 words, but who’s really counting? I hope you guys enjoy.
And remember, if you decide to try this challenge yourself, feel free to send DPW your work. Being in the Halloween spirit, we might just publish it with all the gory graphics we can come up with.

Is it just me or does Caleb Jame’s work get better with every piece he writes? I can’t get enough!
