The surprises keep coming in the SPIDER-MAN EVENT OF THE YEAR! Doc Ock is back and it’s time for him and the Amazing Spider-Man to throw down! What lurks in the Underground?!
This issue pretty much picked up where the last one left off. We do get introduced to some characters that we haven’t seen in a while though.
I really have been enjoying the writing in this event so far. Dan Slott does such a good job of playing off on all the little hints that he’s been leaving throughout the Amazing Spider-Man series. I really thought this event was going to have a hard time comparing to the previous Spider-Man event that Slott did, but so far so good.
When it comes to the art in this series, Jim Cheung is doing a spectacular job; everything feels so real. There is a double-page spread in this issue that is just breathtaking.
We’re getting into the nitty-gritty now of this event—with the next issue being just over the halfway point. I can’t wait to see what’s going to be happening to all of these characters they get involved with in the New U. And with the surprise at the end of the issue, I’m really eager to swing by my LSC to pick up the next issue.
I’m giving this:
4 Out of 5 Whiskey Shots.
