For this week’s flash fiction piece, I decided to try my hand at a H.P. Lovecraft inspired story. Well, story might be a stretch here. This is more like opening a book at a random section and just starting to read.

There is no point to this tale other than for the reader to use their imagination to tell whats going on. I think that’s often times the greatest thing about reading; you can turn the story into anything you want in your own mind.

Perhaps the unnamed victim in this tale is an evil man who deserves what happens to him. Or he could be a scholar who has been messing around with the black arts and has unleashed something he has no power to control. Maybe he’s just some poor sap who is being unfairly tormented by demons for no good reason.

It’s up to you, the reader, to come up with the story. This is just the foundation. Feel free to rewrite this anyway you wish and send it to I’d love to read what you guys come up with. And if it’s really good, I’ll be sure to publish it on the site and give you the author credit. Have fun.
