Loss is something that can hurt us more than a thousand cuts. The grief penetrates deep down to our very core—dragging us into a black abyss of despair. And once you reach the bottom, it can almost be impossible to climb back out.

Join us as we explore these feelings and more with Christen Sweat’s paranormal piece, Mellany. Utilizing her gritty, raw writing style, Christen cuts into her character’s protective shell with a hacksaw and exposes the weak flesh beneath. And in doing so, we find the root of grief and how to begin the healing process.

We hope you take as much away from this piece as we have.

  1. Man, this was an awesome story!
I really loved the fluidity of prose, the transition between dialogue and narration.
