Stolen From Me

Stolen From Me

Her smile warmed my heart,
touched my soul,
made me feel,

at the start,
it was whole,
the love was real.

When she lied,
it left me wanting more,
I didn’t know how to deal,

though I tried,
my heart she tore,
it would never heal.

Around and around my head would spin,
inebriation took away the pain,
from my mind her image I could not peel,

lost in bottles of whisky and gin,
upon my head they would rain,
her face burned in my mind like hot steel,

should this misery ever end,
and I could see the face I so adore,
maybe I could experience something real,

for our hearts could mend,
the pain would be no more,
our love, death should never again steal.
