“A solid classic worth checking out.”
The Mad Titan Thanos has seized control of Infinity Gauntlet and with it near-omnipotent power! Who can stop this deadly new overlord? All of Marvel’s top heroes star in this epic of cosmic proportions!
In 1991 Marvel released a mini series called The Infinity Gauntlet. This story introduced one of the most powerful weapons in the Marvel Universe; the Infinity Gauntlet. This ended up being one of the most popular events of the 90s.
This is a truly epic story in size and scope. If you happen to be a fan of Marvel’s Cosmic characters, this is a must-read. Not only does the majority of the story take place in space, but we get to see characters like Galactus, The Watcher, Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock, and a whole slew of other space entity characters that I didn’t even know existed.
This book is just chock full of classic art from Legends George Pérez and Ron Lim. There’s a good chance one of your favorite characters are drawn amazingly here by one of these two. There are a lot of crazy things that happen in this story, and it’s captured so well. I mean, there’s a part where Thanos battles literally the forces of good and evil. How do you even draw that? Well, they figured out a way—and made it look amazing!
With this being my first time reading The Infinity Gauntlet, I was worried I might be a little confused on what’s going on. Especially since I haven’t read a lot of comics from that time period. But other than not really knowing much about Adam Warlock, I didn’t have too much trouble. And I did like that they spent a lot of the time with Thanos and we got to see his side of the story. Overall, this is a solid classic worth checking out.
I’m giving the Infinity Gauntlet…
