Heart Dog
By Mindy Mullaney
December 28th was the day,
In my arms you were here to stay.
Two hours there,
Two hours back.
A new family member we no longer lacked.
Everyday is something new,
You learned to fetch,
and eat your poop!
Little things would make me mad,
But you’re the best dog I’ve ever had.
As time goes on,
Our bond is strong,
Right beside me is where you belong.
To the park or around the block,
You’re favorite thing is when we walk.
There’s no way to explain what you are,
But you are something special by far.
This is why I call you,
My heart dog.
