I Want To Sleep

By Ashleigh Hatter

The Sun is up
and I want to sleep.
To dream,
To rest and think between my sheets
Away from the Earth’s stomping feet
Where a dream and I may meet somewhere fair
Fair and sweet

While I sleep
While I sleep.

But the Sun is up,
And after, the Moon
And then the Sun returns so soon
And my eyes were never shut

So, yes, the Sun is up
and I want to sleep,
To dream and rest between my sheets.
Cause I’m tired,
And tired men need their rest.
