Knock Out
By Caleb James K.
Lighting fast
with the jab
step so quick
much too slick
couldn’t see
how did he
cut the distance
in an instant
to get up close
and attack.
Pushing back
much too fast
he throws a blast
that hits the body
legs go wobbly
counter’s not working
muscles keep jerking
cramping up tight
there’s flashing light
it’s hard to look
then the hook
hits its mark
and the world goes dark.
Knockout!
