The Long Walk

By Caleb James K.

Walking so long
And it gets darker
And darker
Darker.

The trail goes on
And the light keeps fading
And fading
Fading.

The turn was wrong
Have to keep going
And going
going.

Must stay strong
But that sound keeps echoing
And echoing
Echoing.

Through the woods along
The trail it keeps screaming
And screaming
Screaming.

The sky turns black and I’m gone
Lost in the woods and praying
And praying
Praying.

Then the screaming suddenly stops and I’m all alone.

The woods have gone silent.
