Another Year

Another year gone by
and we lived and we died
by the hands of those we loved.
Our truths were tested
lies exposed
yet here we still stand.
For the nights are long
the days are short
but time passes just the same.
Don’t give up
even when it gets too dark
much too dark to see.
Another year gone by
and here we still stand
passing the time in our darkness.
