Atop the asphalt mountain

The rain never touches ground
Heat bubbles up
But it doesn't make a sound

Atop the asphalt mountain

No trees no life no shade
Only the sun
Its heat will never fade

Atop the asphalt mountain

Metal and rubber burn
Beneath the unfiltered rays
And soon it will be our turn

Atop the asphalt mountain
